Laura Mandile

Laura Mandile

Laura Mandile has been making art her entire life, from arts and crafts as a child, to careers as an illustrator, art director and art teacher.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Laura earned a BFA at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, majoring in Illustration and Design.  While her focus was on realistic rendering, the scope of her freelance assignments led to a career in advertising and graphic design.  She spent many years as an Art Director in the fashion and cosmetic industry in New York.

Retiring to raise her 3 children, she continued to pursue personal art projects and take freelance jobs. Deciding to pursue an art career closer to home, she earned her NJ teaching certification in art.  She has taught art at the middle and high school level.  Her students inspired her to return to the Fine Arts, and she resumed her passion for drawing and painting.  Classically training in pencil, oil and pastel, she loves to explore all media and now also works in watercolor and acrylics, as well as enamel glass painting.  She loves rendering nature. Her work often reflects images from her family life and travels.

Laura Mandile’s work has traveled with the NJ Symphony Art Strings program, and also been shown at the Middletown Arts Center, UGallery, the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury, the Art Alliance in Red Bank, and the Main Avenue Galleria in Ocean Grove, all near the New Jersey Shore, where she resides.
