          The Navesink Brass

          Navesink Brass is a quintet formed in 1992 and is comfortable with all styles of music from the Renaissance to jazz and rock. The ensemble offers a graceful blend of brass instruments comprised of Trumpet played by Thomas Bender and Donald Swinchoski, Horn played by Nancy Shalvatis, Trombone played by Daniel Carver and Tuba played by Paul J. Eschelbach.

            Another View: Artwork Created For and By the Blind

            A special exhibit of artwork created by blind and visually impaired children and adults will be on display at the Middletown Arts Center from September 28 - October 12. The eclectic works, with an emphasis on tactual accessibility, will raise awareness and dispel stereotypes regarding trhe abilities of the blind and visually impaired to create deeply emotional and beautiful works of art. Opening reception: September 28th from 2:oo - 6:00 pm. Call the MAC for gallery hours between 9/29 and 10/12

                A Pre-War Jazz and Blues tribute, featuring the guitars of Mike Barris and Jerry Topinka, the trumpet of Tom Bender, and the voice of Jennifer Wright. The group salutes the stars of the early age of jazz and blues including signature tunes of Django Reinhardt, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith and others.
